Land's End to John O'Groats
1,000 mile Cycle Ride for the MS Society

David (18) and myself cycled 1,000 miles from Land's End to John O'Groats, from Sept 12th to Sept 25th, 2009. We averaged 70 miles per day in fairly good weather conditions, and raised over £4,000 for the Mendip branch of the MS Society. Ask us about it!

The Placing of the Croscombe Stone
August 23rd, 2007

The first record of the Croscombe area is dated AD 706, when King Ina bequeathed land in Correges Cumb (Croscombe) to the monastic institution at Glastonbury.

The George Inn decided to commemorate this fact, and with fundraising support from the regulars and additional help from the Croscombe Society, we erected a large marker stone on the outskirts of the village. We dedicated the stone and wished the village another 1300 years of peace and prosperity.
