An inevitable part of life, we make celebrating a loved one’s life simple. We can cater for a small or large reception, usually here at the George (for up to 80) but off-site as well if requested. See our Funeral Reception menu here. 

Travelogue Tastes

The second Thursday of each month we bring you food from around the world. The country and food changes each month. Country’s we’ve featured range through Lebanon, Spain, Austria, Korea, Sri Lanka and there are many more to come! The evening’s food is served buffet style and can also be taken away. £20pp when booked in advance, £25pp otherwise.

Seafood Suppers

We’re running a three course set menu seafood supper every month, usually on the third Saturday of the month. Limited to 25 persons we serve this at 7pm for 7:30 start, in our dining room. It’s an intimate andfriendly setting to bring your partner, friends or family. Just £25pp and advancebookings are essential.

Curry Night

Curry Night is the last Thursday of every month, from 5:30-8:30pm. We offer a three-curry buffet with all the accompaniments. Book in advance to save £5.00 on our regular price of £23. 

Skittle League Matches

During the winter season we run Skittle League matches in the skittle alley. League matches are usually held Wednesdays through Fridays. You are more than welcome to use the skittle alley at other times and the alley is especially good for private functions. We ask a asmall donation to our MS charity for the use.

Cycling

Cycle Saturday is the first Saturday of every month, departing at 9:30am. We often do a longer ride on the fifth Saturday of each month, ranging from 60 to 100 miles, and departing around 8am. Join our email list or contact the pub directly to get updates.
